Creating an FTP user in Plesk with limited access to files

Introduction

This article explains the steps that need to be followed to create an FTP user in a Plesk hosting account.

Requirements

• an active Plesk hosting account
• login data in the panel

Steps to Follow

• after logging into the Plesk administration panel, in the displayed interface, select "FTP Access"
• in the page that will be displayed, select "Add an FTP Account"

• On the next page, fill in the fields as follows:

1. "FTP account name" - the FTP username
2. "Home directory" - the directory where they will have access
3. "New password" - FTP account password
4. "Confirm password" - confirmation of the chosen password

• after which the "OK" button is pressed
• after successfully creating the account, a confirmation message will be displayed
